Forum for Equity in Malta
Advancing equity in Malta through research, dialogue, and understanding.
F.E.M. (Forum for Equity in Malta) is a platform dedicated to exploring gender equity through research, community engagement, and open dialogue.
Research
We believe meaningful change begins with knowledge.
F.E.M. conducts and promotes research that explores gender equity in Malta across social, economic, and cultural contexts. By collecting data, amplifying lived experiences, and analysing policy impacts, we aim to better understand the challenges people face and identify opportunities for progress.
Community
Equity grows when people come together.
F.E.M. connects individuals, organisations, and advocates who are committed to building a more inclusive Malta. Through discussions, events, and collaborative initiatives, we create spaces where diverse voices can be heard and respected.
Understanding
True equity requires empathy and awareness.
F.E.M. works to foster deeper understanding of gender issues through education, storytelling, and dialogue. By listening to different perspectives and experiences, we aim to encourage thoughtful conversations that lead to positive change.
Our Research
F.E.M. supports research initiatives that explore gender dynamics in Malta, highlighting both progress and ongoing challenges. Our work examines topics such as workplace equity, representation, social expectations, and policy development.
By sharing findings openly and engaging with researchers, policymakers, and communities, we aim to contribute to evidence-based discussions that help shape a fairer and more equitable society.
The Listening Project
The Listening Project is one of F.E.M.’s core initiatives. It focuses on collecting and sharing personal experiences related to gender, identity, and equity in Malta.
Through interviews, surveys, and open conversations, the project creates space for individuals to express their perspectives and be heard. These stories help inform research, guide community discussions, and highlight the lived realities behind the statistics.
Learning Through Listening
Listening is a powerful tool for understanding.
By hearing the experiences of individuals across Malta, we uncover the realities that shape people’s lives and identify where change is most needed.
Learning From Research
Research helps transform stories into knowledge.
Through analysis and collaboration with academics and professionals, we translate insights into meaningful recommendations and informed discussions.
Looking At The World
Gender equity is a global conversation.
F.E.M. connects local experiences in Malta with international research and perspectives, helping place Maltese discussions within a broader global context.
Building knowledge, encouraging dialogue, and supporting a more equitable Malta.
